On the third anniversary of 9/11, I am reminded of the inspirational words of Todd Beamer’s “let’s roll” on Flight 93 during the terror attacks. He cared about us and America. Let us stand united to live in a more peaceful coexistence not only in our country but also with the rest of the world.
The tragedy in Russia is only one more reason to educate people in the ways of freedom and to wipe out terrorism. My heart goes out to those people on the loss of their loved ones, as do my prayers.
Life is a precious gift, as is freedom. Self respect, respect for others and responsibility for our actions are important ingredients for a successful life. Education, communication, life skills and common sense are key factors. Family, friends and outside sources have a great influence on us. Attitudes developed long before our birth become a part of us. As we mature, we can disseminate information and, hopefully, make right and just decisions.
Our country is made up of many diverse cultures. America’s philosophy is equality and freedom. It is given to all who come to our shores. America has defended its principles many times. 9/11 reminded us how fragile life can be.
Let’s roll, America, for all those who have sacrificed their lives for us.
