Commander Carl Harry Uno “Bob” Oscarson, age 81, of Gurnee, IL. Beloved husband of 59 years to Audrey, nee Johnson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2004. He was an “outstanding” father to Dennis, of Gurnee, IL, Denise (Terry) of Encinitas, CA, Diane (Michael) of Chino, CA, Dawn (Peter) of Sandy, UT and Deen (Barb) of Pella, IA; loving grandfather to Brittany, Justin, Mariel, Michelle, Erik, Evan, Marissa, Lauren and Michael; cherished great-grandfather to “TW” and Will; dear brother to Brita, Fred, Joan and the late Christine; dear uncle to many and super friend to all. Carl was a 32nd degree Mason and life member of the Integrity Lodge. He was a member of the Gyro Club, a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Navy League. Cdr. Oscarson proudly served his country during WWII as a Naval dive-bomber pilot. He retired after 39 years reserve service with the rank of Commander. In his own words he “never had a bad day in my life!” and was always “Outstanding!” To all who had the fortune of knowing him, he truly was “Mr. Outstanding” and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Interment service is at Fort Sheridan, Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at 10 a.m.
