John P. Warren, age 90, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004, at his home in New Lenox. He is survived by four sons, Patrick Warren, Michael (Doris) Warren, Daniel Warren and John Warren and three daughters, Kathleen Warren, Maggie (Bill) Whitgrove and Bridget (Steve) Larvenz; 14 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and a dear friend, Wayne Selvig. He was born in Chicago and lived in the Joliet/New Lenox area since 1940. A devoted and loving family man to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a farmer and contractor, very active at St. Jude Church, donating the land for the school and church. He bred and raced thoroughbred horses, loved sports, especially Notre Dame Football and was a member of the New Lenox Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Jane, nee Mayer, Warren, his wife Jane E., nee McEvilly, Warren (1992) and a daughter Molly Warren. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Road, New Lenox, Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m. Services Wednesday, September 15, 2004, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Church for a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
