DISTRICT 54

Orders for birdseed will be accepted through Sept. 24 at the District 54 Nature Center, 320 W. Wise Rd., Schaumburg, behind Frost Junior High School. Premium blend, wild bird mix, sunflower food and Niger thistle are available in 10-, 25- and 50-pound bags and cost between $7.50 and $22.50. The seed may be picked up between noon and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the District 54 warehouse behind the Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Rd. Order forms are available in the Nature Center. The FIND (Family Involvement Nurturing Development) parent and child workshop the Apple Pie Tree will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22 in Stevenson School, 1414 Armstrong Lane, Elk Grove Village; and at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in Blackwell School, 345 N. DISTRICT 62

The Iroquois Community School Pops Concert and Dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 23 in the school, 1836 Touhy Ave., Des Plaines. The concert will feature the Elementary School Chorus, Middle School Chorus, Concert Orchestra and Band, and the new Jazz Band. Dinner is $6. Reservations are due Friday. DISTRICT 63

The Referendum Committee will hold its second fundraising event to help pass the district’s tax referendum in November. Coupons will be accepted during regular business hours Tuesday at Pizza Hut, 9102 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles. The committee also will receive a portion of purchases made with coupons. Committee members will distribute coupons in advance and on site. Coupons can be downloaded from the referendum web site at www.voteyes63.com.

DISTRICT 214

The 8th annual Rolling Meadows High School Mustang golf outing will be held Oct. 2 at Arlington Lakes Golf Course. Tee times for the 18-hole Peoria handicap tournament begin at 10 a.m. Cost is $75 per golfer. Proceeds will benefit the Rolling Meadows High School Mustang Athletic Booster Club and the Teacher Parent Council Post Prom. Registration is due Sept. 24. HARPER COLLEGE

Lynda Milito, author of “Mafia Wife: A True Story of Love, Murder and Madness,” will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the college’s Building J Theatre, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine. Milito was married to Louie Milito, a member of the Gambino crime family in New York who disappeared in 1988. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 the day of the event.
