I recently enjoyed some time in close company with U.S. Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.), and I must take issue with the Democrats’ characterization of his so-called “failing” health” (“Hyde scoffs at talk of failing health; Politics behind rumors, he says,” Metro, Sept. 12).
Henry moves about as you’d expect anyone with chronic back problems to move, be they 18 or 80. Say what you will about his physical fitness, but when you take the man as a whole–his experience, his commitment, his wit, his wisdom and his courage–no one is more fit to serve his district or his country than Henry Hyde.
