On the anniversary of that horrific day three years ago, I felt it was appropriate to fly the American flag, once again, on my vehicle.
I was saddened and ashamed of my fellow Americans to see that no one, not one single other vehicle that I passed as I ran my errands, had done the same.
Not one!
Where is the patriotism that we all showed three years ago? Can we not, at the very least, do the same for one day in memory of all of our fellow Americans who lost their lives that day–and for the ones who have lost their lives in the last three years in the name of freedom?
Are our memories so short as to forget how it felt that day, how we, as a country, felt to be violated in such a manner?
Those who forget, those who choose not to remember, let the enemy win with their apathy.
I remember.
