Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The new arrival who received four parking tickets in his first month in town makes a good point, whether he meant to or not: There is no primer for new Chicago residents for a number of issues (Voice of the people, Sept. 11).

Our fair city’s Web site might feature a few helpful hints so that other new arrivals may avoid that letter writer’s pratfalls:

– No smoking.

– Buckle up (yes, we will ticket you, and yes, we need the money that badly).

– Keep your tags and permits current.

– Hat/scarf/gloves November through March.

– Go Bears; figure out Cubs and Sox for yourself.

– Park responsibly, and watch for snow-route tow zones.

As a lifelong resident, I’m always happy to help. Welcome home!
