Recently on a walk through Federal Plaza in Chicago, I discovered that there was a protest against the war in Iraq.

Pairs of boots and shoes, representing the U.S. military war dead and other casualties, were lined up as the names were read aloud.

One thing occurred to me. How many shoes would there be if Saddam Hussein (or any other terrorist or terrorist group) had released a dirty bomb or nuclear suitcase bomb at Federal Plaza?

That would indeed be a very long service–although it would not be with boots but with many loafers, sneakers and pumps.
