Texas Rangers reliever Frank Francisco dangerously threw a chair at fans, breaking the nose of a female fan (Sports, Sept. 16). Now authorities should throw the book at him. It’s time for athletes to start spending some time behind bars for reckless acts that injure fans, umpires, coaches and other players. It’s about time that athletes are held accountable for their actions.
