Shelby Michael Ciurus, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21 from cancer in Spokane, WA. Born July 3, 1956 in West Virginia, he spent most of his life in Chicago. Always a seeker of fun, he shared his passion for playing the guitar, seeing live music and Wrigley Field with his family and friends. Surviving and loving him are his mother, Linda Reed (Walter Johnson); two sisters, Genee Ciurus Major (Jim) and Lynanne Ciurus (Mark Chapotel); and two nephews, Jake and Jimmy. Preceding him in death was his father, Geno Ciurus. Memorial celebration to be held mid-October in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a local hospice care center.
