The Elmhurst City Council on Monday approved a two-year contract extension with a local paramedic services provider that will cost about $670,000.
Metro Paramedic Services Inc. of Elmhurst will provide 12 certified paramedics, with four on duty at all times.
The units will be deployed at Fire Station 1, 404 N. York St., and Fire Station 2, 605 S. York St. The contract expires Aug. 31, 2006, though either side may terminate the pact after a year, with 60 days’ notice.
