Eric A. Bala, 49, of East Peoria, IL, died at 8:02 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at his residence. He was born on November 6, 1954 in Berwyn, IL, son of Andrew J. Sr. and Lorelei M. DeLusque Bala. He married Jarilyn A. Bluhm on June 29, 1996 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his father of Willowbrook, IL; two stepsons, Joseph and Benjamin Delinski of East Peoria; one brother, Andrew Jr. (and Judy) Bala of Clarendon Hills, IL; two sisters, Mari Anne (and John) Andrews of LaGrange Park, IL and Beverly (and Kevin) Carney of Berwyn, IL; several nieces and nephews; and his god children, Drew Bala and Iris Carney. He was preceded in death by his mother. Eric worked as an Area Sales Representative for Sunrise Medical. He was a member of the Pekin Country Club in Pekin, IL. He was also a member of the Peoria Blade Hockey Team for 7 years from 1975 to 1982. Eric was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Peoria where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2004. The Rev. Beth McGlaughlin will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Remmert Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Melanoma Foundation or to OSF Hospice in Peoria, IL.
