This is regarding “Public gets its say on planned CTA cuts” (Metro, Sept. 23). I found it amusing that the CTA complains it doesn’t have money yet it sends buses out on their routes with old, broken fare boxes that don’t work sometimes, as it did on Tuesday morning. There must have been at least 50 people on my bus, yet the CTA had no way to collect fares.

Also, why make cuts during rush hours? Why not cut the routes during the non-rush hours when no one is using the CTA? The CTA would rather lose money during rush hour?
