Why do so many people have a problem understanding that supporting the troops in Iraq but not supporting our president are two separate issues? Of course we want our troops to come home safely and the killing to stop, but by not supporting President Bush, we are not un-American.
Bush is sacrificing the lives of our young men and women for what? We are destroying a country that we will eventually have to pay to rebuild.
The hundreds of billions we are spending now and the hundreds of billions we will continue to spend could be used to pay for a national health-care plan, reduce the deficit, improve our infrastructure, improve education as well as many other programs that could make this a better country. Instead we send our tax dollars down a black hole in Iraq.
Bush has done nothing to make the United States a better country in the four years he has been in office. Despite his claim that he has made us safer from terrorists, he has created an atmosphere of hatred where we are reviled by almost every country on this planet. Most terrorists in the world wants to harm us, and it is only a matter of time until someone does.
Why people fail to see this and why people feel Bush deserves another four years is incomprehensible to me.
