Arthur E. Whimbey, on Aug. 19, 2004. BGF Performance.com mourns the loss of Art Whimbey, thinking skills movement pioneer and author of the BGF Prototype-Construction Approach to grammar series of textbrooks, along with “Thinking Through Math Word Problems.” His wife, Myra J. Linden, co-authored the grammar series. Since the early 1970’s he devoted his life to leveling the playing field of education with his innovative textbooks. These texts have enabled hundreds of thousands of students to realize their intellectual potential. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Myra J. Linden; and his sisters, Lillian DiFillippo of Key Biscayne, FL and Dr. Estella Whimbey of Seattle. A memorial symposium honoring him will be held at the Association for Behavior Analysis Conference in Chicago in late May, 2005.
