Marian Karas, a Grayslake resident, formerly of Chicago and Las Vegas, ended her valiant battle with kidney disease and cancer on Friday, September 24, 2004 at the age of 84. Marian was born January 29, 1920 to Cecil and Catherine Prescott in England. She worked more than 30 years for Zenith in Chicago and 21 years for the Tam O’Shanter Motel in Las Vegas. Survivors include her beloved children Kathleen (Jerry) Karas and George (the late Mary Theresa) Karas; cherished grandson Christopher; and dear sisters-in-law, Irma, Marlene and Helene. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Casey Karas; her parents; and brothers George and Fred Prescott. This spunky and wonderful woman will be dearly missed. Friends of the family may visit on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately.
