ESPN’s second season of “Dream Job” has narrowed the field down to 10 contestants.

To survive Tuesday’s cut to nine finalists, they may have to go through Cubs reliever Kent Mercker, who will appear on Tuesday’s episode as a guest, according to ESPN.

Mercker and others appear as impromptu guests. The show contestants, who are playing for a one-year job at the all-sports network, must interview them on the fly.

Last year, Glen Ellyn native Mike Hall interviewed Peyton Manning on the fly in the final rounds and did well enough to eventually win the gig. Hall has been working as an anchor and reporter on ESPN’s various networks all summer.

The season’s finale is Nov. 16.
