These paintings may be the only works of art that look better covered in cobwebs–it just adds to the ambience.

The comic-book artist behind the “Spider-Man 2” renderings in the sequel’s opening credits has put up 15 of the original, signed paintings for auction on eBay to benefit women’s cancer research, zap2it.com reports.

Alex Ross’ paintings include portraits of Peter Parker’s fateful spider bite, the maniacal Green Goblin, and Spidey and Mary Jane’s upside-down kiss in the rain.
