Sessions address bank failures
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will present a two-day conference on resolving large bank failures.
Entitled “Systemic Financial Crises: Resolving Large Bank Insolvencies,” the conference will explore how to deal with the crises at the lowest cost to the economy.
Speakers will review past resolutions, develop strategies for improving the resolution process, and stress the importance of developing plans for dealing with failing banks.
Speakers include: Timothy F. Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Alan Bollard, Reserve Bank of New Zealand governor; and Andrew Crockett, J.P. Morgan Chase International president, among others.
The event is set for noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and advance registration is requested. A complete agenda is available at ChicagoFed.org.
