Thaddeus R. Bialek, age 76, beloved husband of the late Adeline for 53 years; son of the late Walter and Lottie; loving father of Stephanie (David) Ewart, Barbara (Kim) Kershenstein, Ted (Pam) Bialek, Jeffrey (Cyndi) Bialek, and Paul Bialek; devoted grandfather of Ryan, Kevin, Lisa, Ricky, T.J., Katie, and Jeffrey; dear brother of the late Walter, Jane, Steve and Stanley; fond uncle of Adrienne, Nancy, Johnny, Janice, Philip, Mark, Karen, Linda, Henry Jr. and the late Richard. He is also survived by his cherished pets, Ruffles and Patches. He grew up in Chicago, and met his wife Adeline when they were 15 years old. He said that from that point on, his life was a fairy tale. He was a WW II Veteran, serving in the US Army in the 2868 Engineer Utility Detachment in the Philippines from 1946-1947. He and Adeline were married on August 27, 1949. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1953 with a degree in accountacy. He began working at International Minerals and Chemicals Corp. (IMC) in 1954 as an accountant, and held several positions including Treasurer of Continental Ore Corp. in New York from 1972-1974, Assistant Controller at IMC from 1974-1975, and Vice President of Finance Administration, Chemical Group, from 1975 until retirement in 1992. He was recognized for his achievements in Who’s Who in America in 1976-1977, and Who’s Who in the World in 1978-1979. He would want to be remembered most for the great love that he had for his family. Visitation will be at his home in Barrington on Friday, October 1 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sherman Hospital Transitional Care Center and TCC Physical Therapy Department, 934 Center St., Elgin, IL 60120.
