Even though quarterback Steve McNair watched practice Wednesday and didn’t even try to throw as he recovers from a bruised sternum that hospitalized him for two nights, neither coach Jeff Fisher nor any of the Titans will say McNair won’t play Sunday.
McNair declined to talk to reporters, staying busy with treatment for a chest still sore from landing on the ball with Jaguars tackle Marcus Stroud on top of him last weekend.
– The Bengals put middle linebacker Nate Webster on injured reserve with a torn knee tendon, officially ending his season.
– Packers coach Mike Sherman downplayed a report in the Green Bay Press-Gazette of a fight between rookie cornerbacks Ahmad Carroll and Joey Thomas after a meeting last week, as did the players involved. “It was family business,” Thomas said. “We’re just going to keep it within the family.”
– The Cowboys lost tight end Dan Campbell (sprained right foot) and cornerback Pete Hunter (torn left knee ligament) to season-ending injuries. . . . Patriots tight end Ben Watson was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
