City officials have approved pay increases for themselves, and more than doubled the mayor’s salary to $85,000.
The Village Board last week approved the increases, which take effect when officials are sworn in after the April municipal elections.
In addition to raising the mayor’s salary from $40,000, trustees’ pay will be increased to $12,000 from $2,400. The city clerk will make $36,400, up from $24,400, and will continue to receive $11,600 a year for acting as city collector.
Officials said salaries have not been raised in more than a decade.
As their salaries increase, annual expense accounts for the mayor and trustees will be phased out, officials said.
