Quarterbacks

Nobody put on a passing clinic, but Mark Brunell threw a TD pass and handled the Bears’ rush. Jonathan Quinn was inaccurate and took four sacks.

Running backs

Facing the Bears was just the medicine for the Redskins’ rushing game. Clinton Portis ran for 171 yards and averaged 4.8 yards per carry.

No stars here, either, but Rod Gardner scored only TD for either offense. Bobby Wade had four catches for only 17 yards.

Brian Urlacher was in on game-high 12 tackles (nine solo, three assists). Urlacher and Hunter Hillenmeyer chased Brunell out of bounds for Bears’ only sack.

Jerry Azumah provided the Bears’ only touchdown on a 70-yard interception return. Rookie Sean Taylor had game-clinching interception for Redskins.
