EVENT OF THE WEEK
Socking it to the audit committees
The Chicago Bar Association presents “Pull Up Your SOX: Counseling the Audit Committee Under Sarbanes-Oxley,” at a luncheon panel Wednesday.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act made a number of structural changes in corporate governance, several of which have increased the responsibilities of directors serving on audit committees. Several attorneys from Schiff Hardin LLP will address SOX rule changes, structuring of audit committees, auditor/committee interaction and audit committee protocols in light of these changes.
The panel runs from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chicago Bar Association, 321 S. Plymouth Ct. The cost for members is $25 in advance and $35 on-site; for non-members it is $35 in advance and $45 on-site.
Panelists include Schiff Hardin partners Allan Horwich, Christopher J. Zinski and Lawrence M. Gill, and of counsel Peter L. Rossiter.
Attendance is limited to 100, and closed-circuit TV facilities will accommodate additional registrants.
