As I watch George W. Bush fill Cabinet positions and tap other like-minded friends for various administration positions, I’m reminded of something I heard about Robert Reich, President Bill Clinton’s secretary of labor. It seems that Reich always made it a point to have at least one adviser whom he could count on to take a contrary position on issues. How wise and mature of him.

Possibly Bush doesn’t feel the need to have anyone pushing back on ideas, since he doesn’t admit to making mistakes.
