Eagles 28, Redskins 6
Story line: Donovan McNabb tied a career high with four touchdown passes, and the host Eagles are 9-1 for the first time since the 1980 season, when they opened 11-1 and went to the Super Bowl.
Star: McNabb (18 of 26 for 222 yards) threw two TD passes to Brian Westbrook and one each to Terrell Owens and Chad Lewis. McNabb has thrown four TDs in two straight games.
Extra points: The Redskins (3-7) haven’t scored more than 18 points in a game this season, the longest they have gone without scoring 20 in a game since the 1930s.

Steelers 19, Bengals 14
Story line: Jerome Bettis ran for 129 yards on 29 carries and Pittsburgh’s blitzing defense held the host Bengals to 42 yards and two first downs in the second half.
Star: Bettis’ third straight 100-yard game moved him ahead of Tony Dorsett for fifth place on the NFL’s career rushing list with 12,863 yards.
Extra points: Steelers (9-1) have won eight straight and are off to their best start since 1978. The Bengals (4-6) had a season-high seven sacks.

Chargers 23, Raiders 17
Story line: Antonio Gates had eight receptions for 101 yards and a TD in Oakland, and Drew Brees passed for 226 yards and ran 6 yards for a TD as the Chargers (7-3) won their fourth straight.
Star: San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson ran for 164 yards and a score on 37 carries.
Extra point: Kerry Collins went 18-for-30 for 227 yards and two TDs for the Raiders (3-7), and he didn’t throw an interception for the first time in nine games.

Broncos 34, Saints 13
Story line: Reuben Droughns ran for 166 yards, including a 51-yard TD 10 seconds into the game, as the visiting Broncos (7-3) remained tied with San Diego atop the AFC West.
Star: Jake Plummer threw for 224 yards and two TDs. He has been sacked just seven times this season–none on Sunday.
Extra point: Aaron Brooks set Saints (4-6) records for completions and attempts, going 34 of 60 for 377 yards. He was intercepted three times.

Falcons 14, Giants 10
Story line: Michael Vick ran for 104 yards on 15 carries and threw two first-half touchdown passes to Alge Crumpler in East Rutherford, N.J., spoiling Eli Manning’s first NFL start. The Falcons (8-2) have won three straight.
Star: Vick passed for 115 yards and it was his third 100-yard rushing game this season and fifth overall, a league record.
Extra point: Manning (17 of 37 for 162 yards, two interceptions) led New York (5-5) on two second-half drives and threw a 6-yard TD pass to Jeremy Shockey.

Bills 37, Rams 17
Story line: Tight end Mark Campbell had three TD catches.
Star: Drew Bledsoe was 15 of 24 for 185 yards, and his three TD passes were the most he had thrown since Dec. 1, 2002.
Extra points: The Bills (4-6), down 10-0 after the first two possessions, held St. Louis (5-5) to 98 yards and no points in the second half and intercepted Marc Bulger three times.

Story line: Steve McNair (18 of 30 for 209 yards) returned to the lineup for the first time in a month, throwing a TD pass and directing two other scoring drives for the Titans (4-6).
Star: Antowain Smith, starting in place of the injured Chris Brown, ran for 95 yards and a TD. He entered the game with 88 yards on 26 carries.
Extra point: David Garrard’s late interception snapped streak of 163 straight passes by Jaguars (6-4) at home without an INT.

Jets 10, Browns 7
Story line: Quincy Carter threw an 11-yard TD pass to Justin McCareins with 5:32 left to give Jets (7-3) the road win.
Star: New York’s LaMont Jordan, filling in for a banged-up Curtis Martin, rushed for 61 yards in fourth quarter.
Extra point: Kicker Phil Dawson missed two field goals after entering the game having made 27 straight for Browns (3-7).

Story line: Joe Jurevicius scored his first two TDs since last season’s opener–9- and 42-yard passes from Brian Griese–for the host Buccaneers (4-6).
Star: Tampa defense held 49ers (1-9) to 197 yards.
Extra point: Bucs’ Michael Pittman had his third 100-yard rushing effort in the last four games and scored two TDs.

Story line: Nick Goings ran for 121 yards and three first-half scores for host Panthers (3-7).
Star: Muhsin Muhammad, who had four TD catches last week, added two more, the first with two seconds left in half.
Extra points: Goings hadn’t run for a score in the past three seasons. Cardinals fell to 4-6.

Seahawks 24, Dolphins 17
Story line: Rookie Michael Boulware intercepted an A.J. Feeley pass and returned it 63 yards for a TD with 56 seconds left as host Seattle (6-4) reclaimed first place in NFC West.
Rock star: Seattle’s Jerry Rice caught three passes for 86 yards and a TD. Fans chanted, “Jerry, Jerry, Jerry,” after his 56-yarder. “I felt like a rock star,” he said.
Extra point: It was the fourth time this season Feeley has had an interception returned for a TD, and his mistake spoiled the Miami (1-9) debut of interim coach Jim Bates.
