Doris Tschudy, nee Weber, August 19, 1930 to November 24, 2004. Doris escaped from behind the Iron Curtain in 1949, leaving her entire family in Netschkau. She came to America in 1955. She retired as chief accountant in the Midwest office of Lufthansa in Chicago after more than 30 years. She belonged to the Power Squadron and had a 30 foot sail boat “Serenity” in Montrose Harbor. She was one of the few women in Chicago who owned and solo-sailed her own sail boat, and was a member and past officer of the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club in Montrose Harbor. She lived on her sail boat all summer long. She loved the water. A memorial service will be held on Mother’s Day 2005 at the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club.
