To those who fear, or take comfort in, the reported divisiveness in our country, I refer them to the wonderful photo “Hail to the chiefs” (Page 1, Nov. 19).
It captures four of our formre U.S. presidents–a conservative Republican, a centrist Democrat, a liberal Democrat and a centrist Republican–striding together, comfortably.
It’s a compelling depiction of our nation’s strength.
