The NBA’s league rules and inaction by the referees contributed to the player actions during the Pacers-Pistons game. It’s time for some new rules:
– If a player punches another player, it’s an automatic ejection and a warning to immediately leave the floor for the player’s locker room.
– If the player refuses to leave the floor, it’s an automatic five-game suspension.
– If the player refuses to leave floor after second warning by referee, the game is forfeited by the player’s team and both teams must retire to their respective locker rooms. No ifs, ands or buts.
