Vitals: Grew up in the south suburbs and now live in the north suburbs with my wife and three kids. Graduated from Columbia College and have been at the Tribune for 10 years, 5 with ChicagoSports.com.

1. What’s your favorite sport?

Golf. I’ll even watch it on TV.

2. Cubs or Sox?

I may be the only human being that roots for both teams, but I lean more to the Cubs.

3. What’s your biggest Chicago sports disappointment?

When the Cubs lost three straight to the Padres in the 1984 NLCS. That one bothered me more than the 2003 NLCS.

4. What’s your biggest Chicago sports thrill?

Had to be when the Bears won the Super Bowl. That was the first time a Chicago team won a title since I had been on the planet.

5. Who’s your favorite non-local team?

Does University of Illinois count? Otherwise, I really don’t have one. As a kid, it was the Cowboys. Editors note: U of I doesn’t count.

6. Game 7 of the World Series. Who’s pitching a) all-time and b) right now?

All-time, I’d say Bob Gibson.

Today, I’d have to go with Randy Johnson.

7. Super Bowl. Who’s under center a) all-time and b) right now?

All-time, it’s Terry Bradshaw because he knew how to win.

This year, I want Peyton Manning.

8. Who’s the team you least want to see win a title?

The Yankees. They’ve won their fair share…and then some.

9. What’s the worst rule in sports?

The replay. It should never be used. Just let the officials make the calls.
