This is regarding “Mamie Caroline Clauson, 103; 150 feted ex-nurse’s milestone birthday” (Obituaries, Nov. 27).
My mother was a nurse. She was a nurse from the day she first proudly donned the cap until she died at age 81.
After she retired, if someone had the temerity to say, “You used to be a nurse, right?” that individual’s ignorance would be corrected in short order.
It seems unlikely you would refer to a retired doctor as “Mr. John Smith, ex-doctor.”
My deepest sympathy to the family of Nurse Mamie Caroline Clauson.
