With a very unlikely and unexpected final twosome, “Survivor: Vanuatu” ended last night with Ohio native Chris Daugherty beating Twila Tanner to win $1 million and the coveted title of sole survivor.
Sure, we’ve got to give Chris kudos for outlasting, outwitting and outplaying the competition, but in reality (pardon the pun), most of the jury wasn’t voting for Chris–they were voting against Twila, who never redeemed herself after she famously swore on her son’s life to maintain an alliance, then blatantly broke her promise.
In a smart move, Chris took the unlikable Twila with him to the final two, and won in a 5-2 decision.
He was so excited when he won that he ran into the crowd and hugged his fiance, who had participated in one of the challenges earlier in the season.
