The Bears’ biggest concern Sunday will be stopping the Houston passing combination of David Carr and Andre Johnson.

“Carr can really throw the ball, and he can make the tight throws,” Bears linebacker Lance Briggs said.

The Bears might have some help slowing down the Texans. The forecast calls for a high temperature of 15 degrees, wind and snow.

“It’s great news,” said guard Steve Edwards, a Chicago native. “It’s the kind of weather I like. Hopefully, it’ll be snowing. Offensive linemen like to play in this weather.”

If the forecast holds, the offensive lines and running backs should decide a game that both 5-8 teams need to keep alive their slim playoff hopes. Even the winner will need help to stay in the running.

“I don’t know that we can prepare for the weather,” said Houston coach Dom Capers, whose team has lost five of its last six, all to winning teams. “We’re not going to make a big issue out of it.”
