Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
The Bears showed signs of life this year, and I believe that with some fine tuning in their coaching and player personnel, they can win their division and make it in the playoffs. (In response to a Jan. 4 Rita RedEye question regarding the Bears’ season.)
Here’s what they need to do:
1. Hire Sean Payton or Mike Debord as offensive coordinator.
2. Get rid of the fat and immobile slugs on the offensive line.
3. Switch positions of [Brian] Urlacher and [Lance] Briggs.
4. Give one-way tickets out of town to: Edinger, Mitchell, Gibson, Columbo, Quinn, Clark, Lyman, Gilmore, McQuarters, Green, Edwards, and the offensive line coach.
5. Get rid of the West Coast Offense and bring back “Smash Mouth” football.
