The Wolves raced to a four-goal lead in the first period and never looked back, routing the Utah Grizzlies 5-1 Wednesday night at the E Center.
The Wolves beat Utah for the 11th time in their last 14 meetings.
Cory Larose beat Grizzlies goaltender David LeNeveu 41 seconds into the game for a 1-0 edge. Stephen Baby then scored twice, and Brad Larsen rounded out the first-period scoring against LeNeveu (6-18-1), who made nine saves on 13 shots and took the loss. He was replaced by Jean-Marc Pelletier at the beginning of the second period.
J.P. Vigier’s team-leading 17th goal gave the Wolves a 5-0 edge in the second period.
