Audrey Knowlton Hildreth, 86, Sarasota, FL, died Jan. 20, 2005. She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Rockford, IL, and came to Sarasota 30 years ago from Elmhurst, IL. She retired as Principal of Edison School in Elmhurst and was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, American Association of University Women, and Pi Lamda Theta. She was a member of Church of the Palms Presbyterian. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marilyn Murray of Oak Ridge, TN; stepsons, Dr. John A. of Palm Beach Garden and Stephen C. of Kennett Square, PA; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. No visitation is planned. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Church of the Palms Chapel. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge. The family requests flowers be omitted, and memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
