Albin J. “Peaches” Prisby, 83, of Homer Glen, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005 in Hines V.A. Hospital. Born Feb. 21, 1921 in South Chicago, IL, son of Wojeich Przybysz and Salomea, nee Domagalski. Married Ralpha “Rae”, nee Szelung, on July 15, 1944. Member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Lemont, IL. Albin flew 40 combat missions during two tours of duty in the South Pacific Theater during WWII as a tail gunner with the rank of Staff/Sergeant for the United States Marine Corps. He earned six air medals, including two Gold Stars and a Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #330 in Calumet City and past Commander. Albin was a member of Calumet City V.F.W., A.M.V.E.T.S. and Rockford’s Marine Corps Detachment. Albin believed in strict family values and held various jobs in order for him and his wife, Rae, to produce a family of college graduates. Survivors include children, Dennis (Pat) Prisby of Homer Glen, IL, Terrence (Marilyn) Prisby of Crown Point, IN, Mary Lou Prisby (Tom Kueny) of Elmhurst, IL, Daryl “Sparky” (Judy) Prisby of Cherry Valley, IL and Martin (Michelle) Prisby of Schererville, IN; nine grandchildren; two nieces; and many wonderful friends. Preceded in death by wife, Rae; parents; and brother, Casmir. Visitation Wednesday 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at 9 a.m. from Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S.
