Harry Stark, 99, retired judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, died January 29. He was the beloved husband of Adelaide Stark; and beloved father, by his late wife Gertrude, nee Prager, of Charles Stark and Andrea Stark; stepfather of Lynn Altschul and her husband, Albert and the late Judd Silverman and his wife, Roberta Schaffer; and cherished grandfather of Kate Wolfe, Dinah Grossman, and Howard, Steven, and Mark Altschul. Judge Stark was born in Birkenhead, England. He entered the Chicago Kent College of Law at age 17, was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1926, and was in private practice until elected to the Circuit Court of Cook County in 1966, where he served on the bench for 20 years. Judge Stark served as Republican Committeeman for the 46th Ward from 1953 until his election to the bench. He was predeceased by his loving sisters Florence, Celia, and Ida, his brother Edward and his half brother Marvin. Service Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church Street), Skokie (tel. 847-679-4740), followed by interment at Free Sons Cemetery, 1600 S. Des Plaines Ave., Forest Park.
