Take Two Interactive wasn’t about to take Electronic Arts’ exclusive acquisition of the NFL and ESPN licenses sitting down. The firm (which runs the Rockstar label) has just signed a third-party exclusivity deal with Major League Baseball, meaning that while Sony could still release a first-party game, EA must remain in the dugout. Take Two also bought the sports game studio Visual Concepts from Sega (who is exiting the video game sports scene) and has set up a new label, 2K Games, to release VC’s future athletics.
