Am I the only one who thinks it’s strange that Dusty Baker wants to clear the air with Sammy Sosa now that he has been traded? If Dusty would have made amends with Sosa at the end of the season, Sammy could still be a Cub with something to prove in a contract year. A re-energized Sosa will easily out-produce any of the alternatives the Cubs can find to replace him in right field. And I thought the object was to win this year. You can’t blame Steve Stone for the Cubs’ lack of offense this year, just Dusty Baker.
