Ernest George Doke, 91, of Evanston, IL and Sanibel Island, FL died peacefully Feb. 6, 2005, in the Foster Pavilion of the Presbyterian Home. He was the son of the late George Emory Doke and the late Anna May Doke, nee Brumbaugh. His brother, John Emory Doke, preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Rose Harlan Doke. Ernie attended Oak Park High School and Purdue University. He graduated from Purdue with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Formelry Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the MacLean-Fogg Company in Mundelein, IL, Ernest served on its Board of Directors for over 30 years. He held numerous patents in both the railroad and automotive industries. Ernie loved music, sports (especially Purdue football and basketball), traveling, and the camaraderie of family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as a trusted and valued friend and mentor, beloved by those who knew him. A resident of Winnetka for over 50 years, Ernie was a member of the Congregational Churches of Winnetka and Sanibel Island, FL. He was also a member of Michigan Shores Club and a charter member of the Captiva Yacht Club. He was a loyal and supportive member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Ernie is also survived by three children: Dianne Moss (Jim), Sandy Woleben (Mike) and Prilla Anderson (Jerry); 10 grandchildren: Katherine, Anne Marie, Carrie, Sarah, Amy, Jenny, Matthew, Kara, Kate and Brian; and one great-grandchild: Christopher, with two more great-grandchildren on the way; a sister, Marjorie Doke Hake, also survives. In lieu of flowers, contributions to either the American Stroke Association or Hospice of the North Shore would be appreciated. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. in the Elliot Chapel at Presbyterian Home. A private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Wm. H.
