Village officials heard a conceptual plan Monday night from a developer who would like to build a four-story condominium building with underground parking and street-level retail shops in downtown Clarendon Hills, along the south side of Burlington Avenue, between McIntosh and Blodgett Avenues.
Christopher Everett, president of Everett Builders in Western Springs, said that he was seeking conceptual feedback on the 24 condominiums and that he would consider revising his proposal before submitting it for formal village approval.
Several village trustees opposed the proposed height of the building. They also questioned whether the rear parking would provide adequate clearance for garbage trucks and other large vehicles.
Trustee Terry Pocius said that she understood it would not be economically feasible to build underground parking unless the building were four stories, but that she wanted to hold the builder to standards that had been imposed on other developers.
