“It’s really all that I’ve experienced growing up in Indiana that keeps me centered.”
–Actress Michael Michelle cites her home state for helping her ride the choppy waters of show business.
Michelle is from Evansville, where the work ethic and simple lifestyle have “given me a great foundation.”
“Very often,” she explained, “when I have decisions to make or when I have to deal with people day to day–particularly in the entertainment industry, where there are no rules and regulations, it’s like almost everything and anything goes–it’s been a really great point of reference to go back and recall what I observed growing up as a child.”
Michelle, 38, lives in New York when not in Toronto filming the UPN drama “Kevin Hill” (8 p.m. Wednesdays, WPWR-Ch. 50), where she plays an attorney.
But Michelle visits her mother and father in Evansville often, or she’ll travel to Indianapolis, home of her sister’s family.
“I go to my mother and father’s home, and my mother still likes to prepare Sunday dinner and go to church on Sundays,” Michelle said. “There’s just something very calming about it.”
