Arthur W. Bagge, 96, a former advertising executive in Chicago and a well known member of the Chicago Norwegian community, died of old age Thursday, Feb. 10 at the Norwood Park Home. Mr. Bagge was born in Chicago and lived most of his life in Wilmette. He was a graduate of Northwestern University, majoring in advertising and marketing. Immediately upon graduation from Northwestern, he spent his entire business career in advertising sales, working for the Dictaphone Corporation, A.C. Neilsen Company, the William Randolph Hearst Corporation, and Peters, Griffin Woodward, Inc. Mr. Bagge was past president of “The Broadcast Advertising Club of Chicago”, twice President of “The Stations Representatives’ Association”, a charter member of the “Chicago Press Club”, a member of the Executive Club and the University Club of Chicago. He served for 36 years on the Board of Trustees of the Norwegian-American Hospital and was a long time member of the Norwegian Pioneer Social Club of Chicago. Mr. Bagge is survived by Harriet, his wife of 68 years; three sons: Bruce, Kendall and Keith; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service is pending.
