I lost my sister, Katie Sheriff, in the porch collapse and I am outraged and sickened by the City of Chicago’s attempts to continue to inflict pain and blame on the partygoers and victims’ families (“No one was jumping, victim’s brother says; Tragedy survivor denies city claim,” Metro, Feb. 8).
If the city inspectors had done their job in the first place, she and 12 other vibrant young people would be alive today.
Mayor Richard Daley’s utter lack of respect and sympathy for our families and lost loved ones is appalling.
