Edward C. Smith. M.D., age 96, passed into Gods eternal life on February 2. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and dear friend to Harriet and Roy. Dr. Smith volunteered to serve in the Army Medical Corps. in North Africa and Italy during WWII. He retired from the Army Reserves after 30 years with the rank of Major. His family medical practice was in the Roseland community where he delivered about 5000 babies and never turned down a patient over money. He loved photography and travel and was a patron to many charities. A memorial service will be planned for a future date. Memorials may be made to Stritch School of Medicine, 2160 S.
