Eugene A. Safranski, age 83, a life long Downers Grove area resident. A graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School, Downers Grove North High School class of 1939, started St. Mary’s Bowling League and also bowled in numerous leagues at Suburbanite Bowling including Sr. Leagues. A WWII Army Airforce Veteran 856th Bomb Squad Sergeant and a former member of the Downers Grove Moose Lodge. Beloved husband of the late Blanche (2002); loving father of David A. (Marianne), Sharon T. (Willy) Tillman and Carol J. (Keith) Laursen; cherished grandfather of five; greatgrandfather of four; dear brother of Wallace (Lou), the late Arthur and Dolores Pearce; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 9:30 a.m. from Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
