Myrtle M. Pruban. The family and friends of Myrtle Pruban, 74, of Mount Prospect (formerly of Carpentersville and Norwood Park) will celebrate her life on Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 3 to 9 p.m. at The M.J. Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago. Prayers will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, and a Mass will be held at St. Thecla Church at 10 a.m. at 6725 W. Devon Ave., Chicago. Myrtle came to this world on July 10, 1930 and left us peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005. She was a woman of extreme strength and pride. Her legacy is seen everyday in her children who continually demonstrate her power and values. People who were touched by Myrtle’s wonderful life know that her greatest love were her husband Raymond of 56 years; four children including Toni (Ed) Thommes of Park Ridge, Sharon (Craig) Russo of Mauston, WI, Raymond Jr. (Lolli) Pruban of Whitebear Lake, MN and John (Christine) Pruban of Arlington Heights; 11 grandchildren including Laura (Jon), Christine (Jeffrey), Matthew, David, Dana (Anthony), Carla, Jason (Valerie), Clint (Erika), Rana, Jessica and Jack; three great-grandchildren including Alex, Jacob and Kennedy; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She is preceded in life by her brother Jimmy (James II); mother Lillian and father James. Myrtle lived for the holidays and celebrations of any kind. She was the first one to arrive and the last one to leave a party. We will continue to share with others her recipes for her Christmas cookies, stuffed cabbage, spaghetti sauce and lasagna. And the “White Elephant Exchange” will go on for years to come. She enjoyed Superdawg, Booby’s, bridge, square dancing, cooking, bingo and bowling. She was a lover of football, and a Cubs fan to the end. Myrtle will continue to live through the gifts and memories she gave each one of us. She will be greatly missed. In place of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Myrtle’s name are made to the American Cancer Society at 100 W. Palatine Rd., Suite 150, Palatine, IL 60067 or call 800-227-2345 in hopes that some day a cure for cancer will be found. Further information 773-631-1240, 847-823-6540 or www.suerth.com
