Jack Kaplan, age 84, of Highland, IN, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, loving father of Gary (Betty) Kaplan and Joel (Young Sun) Kaplan; cherished grandfather of Aaron, Daniel, Alisha, Jason, Justin, Natalie and Madeleine; fond brother of Adele (Bernard) Winner, Seymour (Rosemary) Kapland and Louis (Marlene) Kaplan; daughter-in-law, Tina Kaplan; brother- in-law, Herbert Weiner; several nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his wife, Shirley. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mr. Kaplan was the former owner of Weiner Foods Inc. in Whiting, IN, served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and helped plan the Normandy Invasion.
