Florence Samuels Simon, 57. Flo loved her children, Michael and Ivy; her parents, Jerry and Lyda Samuels; and her brother, Philip Samuels. She believed in doing what you love and being with the ones you love. Whether for a chat or a home cooked meal, her home was always open to family and friends. Her life was full. As the daughter of an Army officer, she grew up in Japan, Germany and cities throughout the U.S. The family eventually settled in Palatine, and in high school Flo established friendships that lasted the rest of her life. In 1980, Flo launched her own marketing agency, Flo Simon & Associates (later the Simon Group). Clients credit her intelligence, marketing acumen and creativity with helping their business grow. In turn, she credits her clients with enabling her to pursue a career she loved. For fun, Flo took modern dance classes, and as a member of Northbrook’s Y’all Come Choir, she performed in Carnegie Hall. A Memorial Service will be held Friday 3:30 p.m. at Chicago Jewish Funerals Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (one block north of Lake Cook Road), Buffalo Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 2221 Rosencrans Ave., Suite 131, El Segundo, CA 90245 would be appreciated. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals, Douglas MacIsaac Funeral Director. 847-229-8822, www.cjfinfo.com
